Getting ready for reunion

Plans for the 3rd Annual Allen-Shaffer Family reunion are heating up. Laura found out that it is the same day as National Cheesecake day so we must celebrate with cheesecake.

Merry Christmas...Happy New Year!

I can't believe how quickly time goes by. It seems like just a couple weeks ago that we were enjoying the family reunion....no it was 5 months ago!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a nice, calm day....opened presents and ate breakfast together in the morning then dinner with Dave's sister and family at night. Soon all the cookies will be gone and we can get back on the healthy eating wagon! Hmmmm...lunch time...those left over sweet potatoes are calling me from the fridge...and then a brownie for dessert!!

Famous people in our hometown area

Talking to the man who owns the B&B that we stay at in Troy we found out that the man who wrote "Mr. Sandman" was born in Troy. That got me to thinking....pause for everyone to have a good laugh at that....that I could add links to bios of famous people in the area. Check it out...>>>>>> over there...

Reunion was so much fun!

The reunion has come and gone for another year and we had a great time! The Manley - Bohlayer Farm was a wonderful place to have the gathering. So much room and we had it all to ourselves!

Thanks to everyone for bringing food and supplies and for pitching in to clean up!

T-shirts

I just picked up the T-shirts and they look great! It has been very hot here, hope the weather is good for the reunion. At least we have somewhere to be inside if it rains!

Three weeks!

The 2nd annual Allen-Shaffer Family reunion is only three weeks from today! I hope to hear from many more family members by this weekend. I am hoping for a great turnout...for anyone who hasn't replied...please let me know this weekend if you are coming...I hope you are!!!

As the reunion grows closer, I am getting so excited...I am looking forward to seeing everyone and sharing what has been going on in our lives for the past year!

The weather here has been great, keep praying for another wonderful day on the 31st.

Still hoping to hear from many more family members that they are attending. We're going to have a great time...I promise!!
