Reunion was great! So wonderful seeing everyone! It was hot....but not unbearable. Hoping even more family members can attend next year...you will have a great time!

Two weeks!!

The reunion is only 2 weeks away! I can't wait to see everyone! I know we are going to have a great time...playing wiffle ball...making ice cream...eating cheesecake (among other things). Looks like we will have a good crowd, sorry that everyone won't be able to make it!

3 weeks till the reunion!

Well folks...it is almost here. The 3rd Annual Allen-Shaffer Family Reunion is 3 weeks from today! Plans are in full swing and we have many fun activities awaiting you! I hope to hear from many more of you in the next week letting me know you will be attending. Rooms seem to be in short supply for the weekend so don't wait till the last minute to find a place to stay.

Getting ready for reunion

Plans for the 3rd Annual Allen-Shaffer Family reunion are heating up. Laura found out that it is the same day as National Cheesecake day so we must celebrate with cheesecake.

Merry Christmas...Happy New Year!

I can't believe how quickly time goes by. It seems like just a couple weeks ago that we were enjoying the family reunion....no it was 5 months ago!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a nice, calm day....opened presents and ate breakfast together in the morning then dinner with Dave's sister and family at night. Soon all the cookies will be gone and we can get back on the healthy eating wagon! Hmmmm...lunch time...those left over sweet potatoes are calling me from the fridge...and then a brownie for dessert!!

Famous people in our hometown area

Talking to the man who owns the B&B that we stay at in Troy we found out that the man who wrote "Mr. Sandman" was born in Troy. That got me to thinking....pause for everyone to have a good laugh at that....that I could add links to bios of famous people in the area. Check it out...>>>>>> over there...

Reunion was so much fun!

The reunion has come and gone for another year and we had a great time! The Manley - Bohlayer Farm was a wonderful place to have the gathering. So much room and we had it all to ourselves!

Thanks to everyone for bringing food and supplies and for pitching in to clean up!
